TOEIC L&R TEST 900 Points Express Parts 5&6 Review
Table of Contents
The Express series is famous as a TOEIC preparation book. I tried buying one and found it to be a good work.
Overall rating: +1 (Recommended!)
It's perfect for developing thinking skills for grammar questions, and can be quite effective in aiming for 900 points.
By the way, I finished reading it quite a while ago and recently remembered that I hadn't written a review article.
Good Points
The most distinctive feature of this book is its page layout.
There's a question on one page, and when you turn it, the answer and explanation are written in an enjoyable quiz format.
Also, each question is designed to be answered within 1 minute, making it highly effective for those using public transportation for commuting or going to school.
Moreover, the difficulty level of the questions is well set, and I think just understanding it thoroughly will make you (grammar-wise) suitable for 900 points.
Furthermore, the explanations are very thorough, allowing you to acquire not only grammar understanding but also the logic to arrive at the answer.
Not So Good Points
Naturally, it's not a book for comprehensively memorizing grammar.
Moreover, it's far from grammar that can be applied to conversation or listening, so it's best to use it strictly for TOEIC preparation.
If you're seeking English skills beyond TOEIC scores, look for other books or videos.
I recommend studying in conjunction with other elements, such as BBC Learning English or looking up grammar you don't understand in other videos as needed.
Summary
Because of its quiz format, you can study in short bursts and short periods, and it comes with high-quality explanations.
It's likely to be a good book that is very effective for preparing for grammar questions.
Incidentally, the only TOEIC preparation I did to get 900 points was the official practice book and this book (as far as I can remember).
